Sacristans are needed to prepare some of the practical necessities for a smooth celebration of Mass. These include such things as ensuring the lights and microphones are on and working, the bread and wine are prepared for the Mass, the key is in the tabernacle, water, towel, chalices, ciboria, corporal and purificators are ready; and all the necessary ministers are present. If you are interested in this ministry contact Fr. Kusi or Dcn. Tom at the parish office, 517-676-9111
Ministers of the Eucharist, Lectors, and Commentators are needed for every Mass. Once trained, parishioners are scheduled in a rotating manner for a few Masses during a three to four week period, with an option to let the scheduler know what weekends you may not be available. A substitute list is available for those who are unable to be in the regular rotation or for those times you are scheduled, but cannot fulfill your duty. For more information, please contact the parish office at 517-676-9111.
Ushers are needed to greet parishioners and visitors at Masses each weekend. As an usher, you can be the smiling face that assists attendees in finding seats, coordinate the presentation of the gifts, dismiss pews for communion, and set up for baptisms. Individuals and teams of ushers are always in demand, especially for 4 p.m. Saturday Mass.
Teams of ushers serve a month at a time in a rotating fashion. There are usually three meetings a year used to touch base and to discuss how we can improve our service to our community. For further information, please contact Shirley Grieve at 517-676-1974 or Tom Murawski at 517-256-6829
Altar Servers are needed at all regular and special/seasonal Masses. Anyone 4th grade and older is welcome to become a server. That’s right, even adults, particularly during the week when kids are in school. Currently training occurs once in the Spring and once in the Fall. For further information, please contact Mel Swab at 517-589-8919.
